Karin Bearss is a vice president in the Supervision, Regulation, and Credit Division at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. In this role, she oversees the consumer compliance and Community Reinvestment Act supervisory functions for the Bank. Her team supervises banks for consumer protection laws and regulations and handles consumer complaints against district state member banks. Karin has led and participated in numerous Federal Reserve System initiatives related to consumer compliance supervision. Karin began her career with the Minneapolis Fed as a consumer compliance examiner and held a variety of positions within the Consumer Affairs section before assuming responsibility for the section. She has a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School and a B.A. in journalism and political science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
